Piedmont Micro, Inc. was founded in 1990 during Ed Harvey's 25 year career as a Professional Firefighter for the City of Lynchburg. This company which began as a hobby gradually demanded more and more of Ed's time until it became apparent that he could leave the force and devote full time to Piedmont Micro, Inc. Fran, Ed's wife came on as President.

In 2001, Ed became an authorized independent reseller for Dentrix Dental Systems Software. Ed's territory covers, Lynchburg, Martinsville, Danville, Roanoke, Charlottesville, Lexington, Christiansburg, Bedford, Richmond, Amherst, Appomattox, Altavista, Staunton, Waynesboro, and West Virginia. Ed's customer base for Dentrix alone has doubled since he became a reseller.

Ben Jones was hired in February 2001, to head up the IT Department. Ben's proficiency in hardware and software maintenance allowed Ed to focus his attention on customer service and bringing in new customers into Piedmont Micro. Ben dedicated himself to the support of every computer sold and used by Piedmont Micro, Inc.

In December of 2001, Rhett Culverhouse was added to the team as Director of New Media. Rhett brings with him over 8 years of experience in 3D Modeling and Animation, Website design and development and Flash Programming and Multimedia CD-ROM design and development.

And the family continues to grow.
